The following procedures are performed on-site in the Scottsdale Institute’’s state-of-the-art facility:
Follicular Unit Grafting (FUG)
Dr. Friedman performs hair restoration surgery for male and female patients as an in-
office procedure. In just one visit, you can walk out of the Scottsdale Institute with a full,
natural-looking head of growing hair.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
With the relatively new technique of follicular unit extraction, Dr. Friedman uses custom-
cut micro surgical blades to extract hairs in their naturally occurring 1, 2, 3, and 4
hair follicular units from areas of the scalp that are programmed to resist balding. He
then transplants them into tiny incisions in the balding areas measuring just .65 mm in
circumference. (For comparison’s sake, older methods of hair transplantation required
incisions of 3 to 4 mm.) By extracting and placing hairs the way they would naturally
grow, in densities of 50 to 60 hairs in a square centimeter, Dr. Friedman achieves a look
that’s completely natural and undetectable.
