Eyebrow Hair Transplant
Although they’re just two small arcs of hair, eyebrows are enormously important. Eyebrows give shape and definition to the face and their loss can make you feel abnormal and self-conscious. Thankfully, if you’ve lost your eyebrows to disease, trauma, medical treatments, or aggressive plucking, Dr. Friedman can restore their full, natural appearance.
Eyebrow hair transplantation is typically performed on an outpatient basis. A very tiny strip of hair is removed from an inconspicuous donor area on the scalp. The doctor uses a microscope to section the strip of hair into micrografts for transplantation containing just one or, occasionally, two hairs. By transplanting the hairs one by one, Dr. Friedman can place them with excellent precision, positioning them the way they would naturally grow. By placing as many as 250 to 375 single hairs into one eyebrow in one procedure, the results can be full and completely natural-looking.
Following the procedure, you might experience some mild discomfort and occasionally, patients experience swelling that is quickly resolved. Over the next few months, the new hairs will fall out (this is completely normal) and then regrow from the transplanted hair follicle. As the transplanted hairs grow into their new position, occasional trimming is required.
