Meet Dr. Tam Chu

Dr. Tam Chu is a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for enhancing the well-being and confidence of her patients. A board-certified physician with a solid foundation in internal medicine, Dr. Tam Chu embarked on an exciting journey towards becoming a highly specialized hair restoration surgeon. She aims to provide patients with comprehensive evaluations, carefully review treatment options, and make the proper recommendations that will maximize patient outcomes.

After receiving her medical degree in 2010 from Midwestern University – Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine with a scholarship and completing residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in 2013, Dr. Tam Chu gained extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a diverse range of medical conditions. She has demonstrated a commitment to compassionate patient care and continuous professional development throughout her career.

Driven by a desire to explore new horizons in the field of cosmetic and hair restoration surgery, Dr. Tam Chu has pursued advanced training in hair transplant techniques. Many of the conditions that she diagnosed and treated as an internist often affected hair growth and resulted in subsequent hair loss. Her background in internal medicine has helped her to identify multifactorial causes of a patient’s hair loss so that she can tailored recommendations accordingly as well as properly evaluate her patient’s medical background to determine the safety of each treatment for her patients. Under the mentorship of renowned experts in the field such as Dr. Shelly Friedman, she has honed her surgical skills and acquired in-depth knowledge of the latest advancements in hair restoration procedures. Dr. Chu is an Associate Member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
