Patient’s Question:
The hair on the sides of my face won’t grow so I have no sideburns. Can hair transplant surgery give me sideburns?
Dr. Friedman’s Answer:
Sideburns have been very successfully transplanted with donor hair from either the scalp or from other parts of the body. We can transplant hair from the scalp and it will grow very nicely over the sideburns. One must realize that the texture of the transplanted hair is going to be different than your native facial hair, which is usually coarse. However, we have treated 100s of facial hair transplant patients, and all of them have been quite pleased with the results.
